Eighty years ago, on June 22, 1938, Jerry was born 15 minutes earlier than his twin brother, Gary, to Boyd and Zelma Hancock. He graduated from the Old Weber High School and received his advanced degree from Weber State College and his Master's degree from BYU.
He was recognized as "Utah's Teacher of the Year" in 1972. He was an educator and guidance counselor for 32 years.
He spent the first half of his life as an educator. The second half has been focused on restoring a 150-year-old, polygamist, Victorian home. Restoring it to it's classic beauty with memorabilia, representing family, ward, community and greater Ogden history. It is currently a live-in museum and is open for public tours.
He is also fulfilling a lifelong dream of developing a successful career as an artist. His paintings can be found locally and nationally in homes, universities and museums.
The family honored them both with a dinner at Maddox Lodge.
